The most dissapointing was A Perfect Circle. Meh, I dont' know why it was so bad. Maybe it was just how I was feeling at the time. The security for that was so tight. They didn't care if you brought in guns and knives, they just didn't want any cameras! Though lots of people smuggled them in. At that concert I realised this:
"I wanna see bands jump around like complete fuckheads. I wanna see them doing crazy things that aren't at all related to the music. Because when you're at a concert, it ISN'T all about the music. It's about putting on a show. If it were all about the music, then there wouldn't be concerts in the first place. Would there?"
I also realised that the amount of enjoyment I get at concerts is directly proportional to the amount of band members on stage. I suppose that's why I'm looking forward to The Polyphonic Spree.
I also completed jury duty in January. I was juror 3 on a rape and indecent assault trial. Fucking awesome. I got paid shit all, but for me, it was so much. Fuck yeah! My jury only deliberated for about 30 minutes. After the trial, I got home and saw an article on the net, from a Melbourne newspaper saying something about the jury in the trial. That was cool. I also had a couple of close encounters with the accused rapist in Subway and on the train. Awesome!
Best movie I saw this year was definitely Team America. That's why I'm saying fuck yeah all the time. I also saw The Godfather for the first time this year. That's quite good I suppose.
I've acheived good marks at uni. I think I've found my niche in functional and logical programming languages. They're so trippy. I also managed to do a couple of music subjects which I was so happy to do. I got 6's in both of em. I met lots of intersting people, but they all had awful taste in music. Which is so ironic (in Bad Santa voice: ha ha). It was fun being one of the oldest people in the class. And it was fun being one of the only non-Arts/Music students in the subject. "Yeah I'm a software engineer. Fuck you arts student I'll take you on!"
Despite lots of music theory I've learnt, I never got around to writing some music. Pfft, I'm just getting so lazy about it. Which is rather sad.
A lot of people I know turned 18 this year. So I've been going to the Casino tons as of late. I've also become extra-friendly with Kristy, who was someone I hated many years ago. But somehow, through many swear words and TISM ideas and phrases, we seem to connect. It's quite bizzare really.
This year I took up photography. It's so easy. Digital photography is anyway. I developed a good way of photographing bees.
Phew I think that's it. That's what I did in 2004. Bring on 2005!
